Jedi Order

The way that can be walked is not The Way.

The following material is for the next generation. It comes from guides pieced together from "a long time ago". Try not to be distracted by its rough edges.

The Jedi Order forms itself for the purposes of serving the whole of the living universe. It is given recognition for its utility in the service to the New World Order -- a prophesy on your dollar. You could say the Jedi Order are a dream of that prophesy that can be utilized for fixing and holding the world. The Jedi have no creed, yet maintain a reverential stance towards something transcendental they call the Force.

The Force is the invisible hand that guides world events, from the simple and commonplace to the great and tumultuous. The Jedi Order abide with this force so that they can tip the scales towards the highest ideals -- and to live efficiently, in harmony with the whole. They are the butterflies in the system: minute local changers that move everything towards greater harmony and order.

The Jedi are the supercells in the body of Man, keeping the system in balance, like the immune system of the body, they are inconspicuous, quiet, perfectly forceful, and hold the knowledge of the whole.

Your present world polarizes science vs. religion. Imagine science plus religion and you have the Jedi. The Jedi is the only realistic scenario built out of all other superhero possibilities. And there is no future without both science and religion. The Force/the Tao has already contemplated this in making the New World Order prophesy: it is a secular prophesy, yet is made by the forces of the Divine.

The Jedi Order are not mercenaries for hire. They institute order by higher wisdom through agreements within the soul itself. They can be called on for resolving and understanding conflicts, getting greater production out of a population to justify expenditure, to consult on ecosystem imbalances, and even to assist in a pain-free childbirth and bringing in new life.

They don't carry a weapon, except to be more available to the Universe for whatever purpose may be called for, as a demonstration of their personal dedication. They have no vendetta nor personal mission, so any use of items beyond their person is an expression of the Force itself.
