- rust upgrade status
- z-index
- acid2 issues ( https://gist.github.com/pcwalton/9557836 )
jack, pcwalton, larsberg, jdm
- jack: what's the last thing we're waiting for?
- larsberg: need to make sure that make check works; there are some missing freetype symbols.
- jack: does that only happen on android?
- larsberg: only on make check.
- young: aydin is on a business trip until next tuesday, and when he comes back he can check the progress again.
- jack: Hopefully we can land that tomorrow.
- jack: Biggest pieces missing for ACID2. Pradeep is on another project, so we need another lead to do it.
- pcwalton: I can do it.
- jack: So, finish up the margin-collapse and then work on it?
- pcwalton: I will be working on it anyway because we do not have support for painting order, which is required for a lot. That will fix the eyes many of the borders, etc. I wanted to ask about generated content status. It seems we do not have that.
- jack: Who was reviewing that?
- jdm: I was and had comments.
- pcwalton: We should circle back on that because it's needed.
- jack: What was the PR number on that?
- jdm: #1725
- jack: Who was working on it? It's closed?
- jdm: Jaeman & sammykim.
- jack: Are they still working on this?
- yichoi: Yes,
- jack: Do you remember, patrick, what generated content is blocking?
- pcwalton: Getting the nose in ACID2. The borders are on the generated elements, which is why it is red right now.
- jack: In the agenda, there is a link to the ACID2 issues ( https://gist.github.com/pcwalton/9557836 )
- pcwalton: I originally thought the borders were off, but it is just because we are missing the generated content.
- jack: The rest of the agenda was to go through this list. position:fixed, we had someone working on and the internship is over, so we need someone to pick that up.
- pcwalton: I can do it. Related to z-index and background: fixed
- jack: min-height & max-height?
- pcwalton: I have a PR for it. Also for background-repeat and parsing background attachment fixed.
- jack: How about absolute shrink to fit?
- pcwalton: Sure!
- larsberg: I can help out with the row 2 stuff once I land the rust upgrade.
- jack: No padding: right on inlines?
- pcwalton: I have a fix for that.
- jack: just background-attachment and tables?
- pcwalton: I've parsed background-attachment
- june0cho: For the tables fix, I checked the review. I am rebasing and I will finish it this week.
- larsberg: Can you land tables before the Rust upgrade?
- june0cho: I will start working on the rebase after the Rust upgrade.
- jack: We just need z-index, then. ACID2 is already looking very close. Patrick, do you have a screenshot?
- pcwalton: I have a picture of how it looks now with my patches and margin-collapse: http://i.imgur.com/9RdQaNK.png
- pcwalton: I think the bottom margin is not applied propertly. The smile is also too far up due to negative margins, float clearance, etc. There is also a bunch of gunk on the bottom you can't see because we do not have tables. The yellow thing floating around the forehead is absolute positioning in the wrong place. And the scalp is not in the correct position because of the fixed positioning. The eyes is a problem with painting order. The reason there is a red box beneath the smile is because of background-attachment: fixed.
- jack: OK, sounds like we have people to work on all the pieces that are left, unless we find any more new pieces. Anything else on ACID2? Reminder, the demo is March 28th.
- jack: We have two people coming in to SFO to interview for Servo positions. And we are possibly getting one engineer from the former Metro team, so there will be new servo people.
- larsberg: Also, SimonSapin will be starting full-time at the end of march.
- jack: He's planning to work on writing modes and then fragmentation.
- jack: Any other agenda items?
- yichoi: Training program topic areas?
- jack: We have put together a list of potential areas, which azita should send to you soon. I will send out a survey for the dates for the next Servo workweek. It will probably be either the last week of April or the third week of May.
- yichoi: One or two members can attend the workweek.
- jack: Please let me know if anybody has conflicts with dates in late April or the third week of May.
