Minutes

1. versions: We've got a timeline! Drupal 7 and 8 have the same EOL. 8 to 9 is supposed to just be a bump, not a break, so it should be much easier than 7 to 8. Our 7 timeline extends six months beyond Drupal for security fixes, but that's JUST ISLANDORA. We can't cover the Drupal support.
2. Islandora 8 is a real thing now. We need to work on changing how we refer to it. This does NOT affect the version numbering, which is going to be semantic versioning.
3. The IF has a proposed Mission Statement, if you would like to comment. A suggestion to make it a Vision, Values, and Mission statement (maybe for 2019/2020?)
4. Drupal 8 and multisites. May be replaced by a more devops approach in Islandora 8? Looking for anyone with real experience. There are many Islandora groups/consortia using this approach, so we need to make sure we can replicate the experience of using Drupal 7 multi sites to support multiple clients, even it the means end up being different in Islandora 8.
5. Issue 1022. Going ok, Ticket closed. Might need a warning in the docs about the wall of red text and the fail(ok). There's a drupla.org ticket that may fix this once resolved.
6. Issue 1023. Important for the release. In Fedora 4, external content wasn't in the API, so we "made it work." Fedora 5 lets us do it properly, so it's time to take advantage of it, so we don't make people re-index post-release. This will also make our triples better.
7. Issue 1024. audio derivative has video/mp4 mime type. Fine during testing, but showing up in Claw Playbook build. Not sure where it is coming from at this point. The derivative ares fine, but the mimetype field is getting set wrong. Maybe something baked in to Homarus? Something in the config?

Extra-ten-minutes-of-meeting discussion:

Question: EDTF standard released at the end of November. Our current Controlled Access terms only supports through level 1. Some of level 2 was in MODS previously. Is there a plan to get us to EDTF Level 2?

There is! There's an open ticket and pull request 🎉

Question: Is anyone working on multiligual?

Yes! Natkeeran at UTSC, Zoly in Hungary. The software isn't as harmonious with it as we'd like, but more than one early adopter has this need, so we'll get there. There's a meta-isse to track this.
