torment battles
Torment Battles, aka the end game idea, are special battles where players have to defeat three waves of monsters (5 monsters each wave, though waves 2 and 3 have a 50% chance of replacing 1 monster with a boss). The monsters that can show up can literally be any non-generated boss or monster that is currently in the game.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter a Torment Battle a player needs a Torment Orb. Currently there are up to level 60 orbs (TormentOrb1, TormentOrb2, etc) and each one increases the Torment Level by 1, until Torment Level 25. After that, it increases by 5 up until Torment Level 40, where it increases by 10. Each level represents level 500, so a Torment Orb 2 is level 1000 monsters inside the battle. A Torment Orb 5 is level 2500 and a level 10 is 5000.
In order to craft a Torment Orb there are only two items needed in addition to a diamond gem: 1 gold key and x number of Death'sBreath. The number of Death's Breath needed is the level of the orb you want to craft, up to 5. So a TormentOrb1 needs Death'sBreath x1 while a TormentOrb10 needs Death'sBreath x5. Anything higher than TormentOrb10 still only requires 5 Death'sBreath.
Once you have the orb a player can use it outside of battle but be warned that using it will instantly destroy the orb even if no one actually enters the battle.
[13:34] [Iyouboushi] !use TormentOrb1
[13:34] [BattleArena] Iyouboushi's Torment Orb shatters and creates a large demonic-looking red portal. All brave souls level 500 or higher should use !enter now to enter this portal if they so wish. The portal will close in 20secs.
Players who are under the Torment Level's threshold will be unable to enter but anyone who's higher will not be capped.
TORMENT BATTLE REWARDS
If the players are successfully able to kill all of the monsters and survive the 3 waves within 70 turns (darkness happens after 70) then they will be rewarded with orbs, 500 allied notes, and a certain number of Horadric items. For Torments Level 1-10 the players will receive HoradricCaches while Torment levels higher than level 10 will receive HoradricStashes. (Everyone will receive the Horadric items, not just the most stylish)
[13:37] [BattleArena] The Battle is Over!
[13:37] [BattleArena] The Allied Forces have successfully survived Torment level 1!
[13:37] [BattleArena] For their victory, these players have been rewarded with Red Orbs: Iyouboushi[+418,567]
[13:37] [BattleArena] The Allied Forces reward the heroes with 500 Allied Notes for their victory.
[13:37] [BattleArena] These players have been rewarded for battle: Iyouboushi[HoradricCache x1]
The number of orbs and the number of HoradricCaches and HoradricStashes will depend on the torment level, and will increase as harder torment levels are beaten. A TormentOrb1 will only give 1 HoradricCache but a TormentOrb10 will give 10 of them. Similarly, Torment11 will only give 1 HoradricStash but Torment21 would give 10 of them.
HORADRIC CACHE INFO
So what is a Horadric item and what does it do? Well it's a special kind of “random” item. Using it will give a certain random number of an item, out of a list of 4 (LifeShard, ArcaneDust, ReusablePart, ForgottenSoul). HoradricCache will give 1-10 and a HoradricStash will give 150-250.
[15:05] [Iyouboushi] !use HoradricCache
[15:05] [BattleArena] Iyouboushi pulls out a small glowing box which opens and reveals 10 ArcaneDusts inside!
[15:05] [Iyouboushi] !use HoradricStash
[15:05] [BattleArena] Iyouboushi pulls out a small glowing box which opens and reveals 124 ForgottenSouls inside!
etc.
These items are what is used to craft the actual rewards for doing Torment.
