Neutron star seismology

Thermal nois

Astrophysics is a huge field. It studies the smallest and the largest objects in the Universe and everything in between. Like many theoretical
astrophysicists, I work on a number of different, sometimes overlapping topics. This website is an attempt to give an overview of my research and
my scientific trajetory

Neutron star seismology

Vibrational modes of the Eatch and the Sun are routinely measured and provide a wealth of information about their
internal structure. Observing a vibrational mode of a neutron star woud provide a wealth of information about their internal structure, and
this is one of the holy grails of neutron star astrophysics. I have worked on the theory of two types of vibrational modes: the r-modes of
rapidly rotating neutron stars, and torsional magneto-elastic modes of magnetars.
