Hi! I'm Ciprian, and thanks for showing interest in my work!

In am a professional Linux administrator, but also a developer (in various languages) especially with a focus on automation, infrastructure or performance related problems; also, long time ago I used to be involved in research and teaching at the university I've graduated from.

However, in my spare I work on a few small personal projects, tailored specifically for my own use-cases (most of which I also use in my professional capacity), targeting especially Linux (and perhaps portable to OSX, OpenBSD and FreeBSD), mostly developed in Go or Rust, and involving either the console or services. I would say most of this work is non-mainstream, and sometimes is going right against the current trends, or what some would call "opinionated software".

I have split my projects in two "namespaces":

  • my personal "brand" GitHub account https://github.com/volution, which serves as a place to show case projects that have more of a release quality, and which I think will survive the test of time (at least for my own purposes);
  • my personal GitHub account https://github.com/cipriancraciun, which is sort of an incubator for projects, where I host incipient ideas, unfinished work, and even projects that might just be barely usable by other people than me; :)

Now, getting to the topic of sponsorship... I am a tinker and builder, and most of my professional life I've always followed the "most interesting or challenging path" than the "money for your time and energy path". Thus, if you've found a project that you like, the best sponsorship I could get is in fact non-financial support: share the link to that project, try to use it and contribute with issues or ideas, write a blog post describing how you've used it, etc.

On the other side, if one of my projects made your life easier (especially your professional life), and you would like to compensate for my effort in developing that project, I am also open for financial sponsorships. However keep in mind that such a sponsorship doesn't mean I work for you now :), I might however prioritize an issue or feature.

Again, thanks for showing interest in my work!
