I watched a documentary about an NFL player getting ALS at a young age that really stuck with me (Gleason 2016), and my father experienced a stroke at a young age that disabled him as well. I just cannot imagine being stuck in a body that no longer moves.
Until science can figure out how to fix these issues, I believe that the next best thing is to build robots to help us.
Think of all these devices as little robots with a specific mission.
Valar Systems is a one-man show, run by me, Daniel Frenkel. My vision is to automate, motorize, and open-source everything in your home. Think about all the crazy things a Tesla can do, now think of all the things your average home cannot do.
I live in the beautiful town of Bend, OR, USA, and am working on several projects that are going very well. However, they are extremely time-consuming and expensive to build.
Projects
- Model-H: Is a horizontal window opener that automatically opens and closes your windows, helping bring fresh air in when the outdoor air is good.
- Model-S: Is a curtain opener that opens and closes your curtains, designed mainly for blackout curtains, that helps you wake up naturally.
- Mode-V: (coming soon) Is a vertical window opener. The prototype has been built and works well, but needs more time to polish it up.
- Model-D: (coming soon) Is a sliding door opener that is great for wheelchairs, pets, the elderly, and anyone else. It works very well but also needs some more work.
- Model-C: (coming soon) Is a crank window opener. The overall design is ready but needs more time.
Why your sponsorship is important?
These devices will change people's lives. However, I am doing everything on my own, from 3D modeling, to 3D printing, to PCB design, to firmware development, to iOS and Android development, to marketing, to support and documentation. All while working full time to support these projects.
With your support, I can focus more time on these projects, hire freelancers to help out, and purchase prototypes as the design moves along.
I like to design, build, then redesign, and build again, over and over, until it's perfect. This is very time-consuming and expensive.
