Roadmap

We are currently working on CellBase version 4.x. There are many other features that will be available in future releases, these are long term features with no fixed calendar. You can find detailed issues at GitHub issues for v4.1. A summary of current road map includes:

  • Knowledge-base improvements, mainly new clinical data
  • Variant annotation: improve structural variation annotation, extend population frequencies data and improve annotator performance
  • Improve automatic testing procedures for loaded data and variant annotation
  • Improve CellBase data accessibility: provide Python/R libraries that enable easy and intuitive programmatic access to CellBase.
  • General documentation improvements: from code to wiki documentation. Ensembl 82 (check Ensembl 85 ~June)
Long term features

Some features being designed include

  • More species added
  • New RESTful web services
  • GA4GH data models integration
  • Custom data integration
  • Bioconductor client
