YouTranslate is a Chrome extension that reads YouTube video subtitles out loud, providing an accessible experience for users with reading difficulties. Watch videos in any language with automatic subtitle activation and customizable text-to-speech voices. Currently in beta, contributions are welcome!

- Download or clone this repository to your local machine.
- Open the Google Chrome browser and navigate to
chrome://extensions
. - Enable "Developer mode" by toggling the switch in the top right corner of the Extensions page.
- Click the "Load unpacked" button and select the directory where you downloaded or cloned the repository.
- The YouTranslate extension should now be installed and ready to use.
- Open a YouTube video in the Google Chrome browser.
- The extension will automatically activate subtitles in the chosen language and mute the video's audio.
- Click the YouTranslate icon in the Chrome toolbar to access the popup.
- Select your preferred voice from the dropdown menu.
- Click the "Start" button to begin the text-to-speech playback of the subtitles.
