HiveMQ Deny Root Wildcard Subscription Extension

Purpose

This extension denies any subscription to the root wildcard topic. In general, root wildcard subscribers tend to be a bottleneck in many scenarios.

Installation

• Download the extension from the HiveMQ Marketplace.

• Copy the content of the zip file to the extensions folder of your HiveMQ nodes.

Configuration

No configuration is needed, the extension works out of the box.

First Steps

After the extension is installed, it is automatically enabled at startup. Now, no client is allowed to subscribe to #, +/#, $share/group/# or any other topic filter that would represent a root wildcard.
