Some times because of Server problem we are facing A Network Fluctuatuion while calling the API. To resolve that problem I've made a Simple lightweight library which provides Functionality to Retry that API call at time of network error. Take a look and Feel free to Contribute.

Releases:

Current release: 1.3.0.

You can see all the library releases here.

How to use this lib in your project:

Gradle

compile 'io.github.dalwadi2:retrofit-retry:1.3.0'

or

Step 1. Add the JitPack repository to your build file Add it in your root build.gradle at the end of repositories:

allprojects {
	repositories {
		maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
	}
}

Step 2. Add the dependency

dependencies {
	compile 'com.github.dalwadi2:RetrofitRetry:v1.2'
}

Maven

<dependency>
    <groupId>io.github.dalwadi2</groupId>
    <artifactId>retrofit-retry</artifactId>
    <version>1.3.0</version>
</dependency>

Sample

  • First you have to Create Object of your ApiInterface like below :
ApiInterface apiService =
                        ApiClient.getClient().create(ApiInterface.class);
Call<Sample> responseCall = apiService.VIDEO_NOTY_CALL();
  • After then you have to Implement this method (Here Default Retry Count is 0)
 RetryHelper.enqueueRetry(responseCall, 3, new CustomCallback<Sample>() {
                   @Override
                    public void onFailResponse(int errorCode, Call<Sample> call, Response<Sample> response) {
                        progress.hideDialog();
                        Log.e(TAG, "onFailResponse() called with: errorCode = [" + errorCode + "], call = [" + call + "], response = [" + response + "]");
                        Toast.makeText(MainActivity.this, "Failed After Retry", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
                    }

                    @Override
                    public void onResponse(Call<Sample> call, Response<Sample> response) {
                        // Code of Success
                    }

                    @Override
                    public void onFailure(Call<Sample> call, Throwable t) {
                        // Code of Failure
                    }
                });
  • Now you can also specify the your own success code.
   RetryHelper.setSuccessCode(200);

PS: If you are using this library, you don't have to add extra Retrofit 2.0 Repository. I already added bellow Repos in this Library.

compile 'com.squareup.retrofit2:retrofit:2.2.0'
compile 'com.squareup.retrofit2:converter-gson:2.0.2'

proguard-rules.pro

-dontnote retrofit2.Platform
-dontwarn retrofit2.Platform$Java8
-keepattributes Signature
-keepattributes Exceptions
-dontwarn okio.**

Todos

  • Put listener for Every Retries
  • Put method for Each fail Response
