  • convert all of setup.cfg to pyproject.toml using ini2toml.
  • switch to gh-actions from Travis CI
  • black formatting
  • Drop support for Python 2.7 "workflows"
  • fix tests with modern md5sum container
  • lint the code
  • added type hints
  • added Makefile as a helper for developers
  • measure test coverage
  • many doc strings added
  • Test using Python 3.8+
