This document specifies normative rules and non-normative guidance for building a National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) information exchange package documentation (IEPD).

NIEM Information Exchange Package Documentation Specification 5.0 RC 1

This document specifies normative rules and non-normative guidance for building a National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) information exchange package documentation (IEPD).

Changes:

• Updated version and date
• Removed IEPD samples to their own repos
• Moved sample iepd-catalog.xml out one folder to align with its schema, correcting link in spec

This document specifies normative rules and non-normative guidance for building a National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) information exchange package documentation (IEPD).

• Streamlined from the earlier Model Package Description (MPD) Specification to be focused on Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) only.
• Removal of MPD-specific content, including, but not limited to:

  • Section 1.3 Scope
  • Section 3.2.1.1. Well-Formed IEPD
• Migration of sample instances and schemas to NIEM 5.0:
