Immerse yourself in the spirit of nostalgia and adventure with "Nova," a map that pays tribute to the beloved gloom5 while drawing inspiration from the sci-fi masterpiece, Aliens. As a fan of Gloom Q2, the creator was captivated by the tension and excitement reminiscent of the marines' mission to a lost colony in Aliens.
Driven by a long-standing desire to recreate the essence of gloom5, the map "Nova" was born. This creation stands as a testament to the creator's deep respect and admiration for the artistry of the original game.
"Nova" unfolds as a narrative-driven experience. Players step into the roles of explorers who embark on a journey to the enigmatic Colony Nova, tasked with uncovering its secrets. However, fate takes an unexpected turn as their vessel crashes just before reaching the colony. In their quest to unlock the mysteries of Colony Nova, players must first find a way past its gates and into its heart.
Spanning multiple levels and thoughtfully designed, "Nova" offers players a generous playground for exploration and discovery. The map's intricate detailing enhances the immersive experience, evoking memories of both gloom5 and Aliens. The tension reaches its peak in the reactor room, where the Aliens await their encounter with brave adventurers.

Attention, Commander,
Assemble your troops, for a grave task lies ahead. Our hopes rest upon the colony known as "Nova," situated on a distant planet that was once deemed a paradise. However, fate has taken an unforeseen turn, and it is our duty to address this crisis.
Your unit, the elite "Nova Recon," has been selected for a perilous journey to Colony Nova. Comprising battle-hardened warriors, technical experts, and survival specialists, your mission is twofold: ensure the colony's security and prepare for potential threats.
The path to the colony will be fraught with challenges. Extreme space conditions will test the mettle of your crew aboard the dropship. Nevertheless, unity and steadfast focus must remain your guiding principles.
Upon reaching Nova's orbit, prepare for a controlled descent. Yet, fate has other plans. A catastrophic malfunction will strike your dropship, necessitating an emergency crash landing on the planet's surface.
Survival will be no small feat. The members of Nova Recon will emerge from the wreckage, battered but alive. Survey your surroundings; witness the devastation that has befallen Colony Nova. Buildings lie in ruin, streets are strewn with debris, and an eerie silence prevails.
Your objective remains clear: locate survivors and assess the extent of the damage. But beware the eerie emptiness that awaits you. Communication systems are down, and darkness blankets the colony.
To reclaim the situation, your immediate task is to restore the power supply. This will be your key to unlocking the colony's access points. Keep in mind the potential threats that lurk, for you tread into the unknown.
As the lights flicker back to life and the gates to the colony open, brace yourself for a revelation beyond imagination. Alien entities have infiltrated Nova. Aggressive and relentless, they hunger for human life. Prepare for a battle that transcends the ordinary.
The Nova Recon unit must rise above its limitations. Courage and camaraderie will be your greatest allies. As you face the alien menace head-on, the truth behind the colony's fate and the horrors that have taken residence will unravel.
May your determination remain unshaken as you lead your unit through this ordeal. The fate of Nova rests on your shoulders, Commander. You are humanity's beacon in the darkness, the vanguard against the unknown.

- Download NetRadiant Level Editor.
- Launch NetRadiant and select "Tremulous" as your game setting.
- Open the '.map' file located in the directory
/%PATH%/tremulous/base/maps
and, from the menu, choose 'Build -> 'Build with final settings.' - Start the Tremulous game with
-sv_pure 0 -devmap MAPNAME
. Make sure to replace "MAPNAME" with the actual name of the map you compiled.
