RetroAami-Xtreme

RetroAami Xtreme is a collaborative Amiga 500 Mini Modification between MadFranko and myself (KMFDManic) with a hint of Xtreme Amplitude, RetroArch/Core wise!

These Cores and Xtras are primarily meant for those who have Official Mini Classics. Knock-Off ones will not at all work with these Releases!

Welcome to the very first Release of RetroAami Xtreme for the Amiga 500 Mini!

None of this would have been possible without the Xtreme help of my great friend, MadFranko...who was able to draw upon decades of Amiga experience, to help ensure we have the absolute best implementation of the combination RetroAami (RetroArch Amiga), in conjunction with the (KMFDManic Xtreme Cores+RetroArch) for a Win-Win situation:) And, thanks, kowa...for helping test things on the Amiga side!:) Be sure to check out my YouTube channel, linked above, to see Amiga 500 Mini and other such related videos!!!

Thanks are in order!

Thank you all for being so incredibly considerate and patient, as both MadFranko and myself have been dealing with quite a few real life dramas, in between handling the necessary Updating for this particular Release! Any of you who have ever personally dealt with me, will realize...by now, I can be quite stubborn at times! When I have a vision as far as what I want to personally get out to the Public, it can easily lead to a little bit of frustration and conflict when working with a Team. It can be an almost metaphorical Spider-Man to the X-Men. He simply doesn't fit well into any Team. But, he can help when needed, and do some badassery on his own, as well:)

Thank you, MadFranko, for putting up with my shenanigans, as we have now successfully made it to Release Tangibility! With that being said, The Xtreme Release is much more about Performance and Speed and running the more Xtreme Games than Accuracy and Stability and even Latency! You may all want to stay tuned for MadFranko's Standard Release in the future, which will have nicely preserved configurations for hundreds of N64 Games, etc, that are fine tuned for Accuracy and Stability and Latency. My take away from this stuff, in general, is my want to just be able to PUSH the limits of the Minis, and what they are capable of running. In THIS particular Release, you will see some nice tomfoolery I utilized on the coding front to get Cave SHMUPs working to a more playable degree, along with many other fun additions!

Thanks to everyone in the Libretro Organization, as well as any and all other developers and testers that I have had the absolute pleasure and privilege to personally work with! And, of course, thanks to all of YOU, reading these Release Notes. Without you, we wouldn't be here, at all!

So, then, let's get this Mod Party Started!

How the hell do I even get started, you may ask? Well, it is actually quite simple! First of all, when you boot up your Amiga 500 Mini, you will need to make damned sure you do NOT update the firmware, as it will instantly break your ability to run RetroAami Xtreme! Obviously, since you won't be connected to the internet, this should be a non-issue! MOST Amiga 500 Minis come pre-installed with the older firmware! If, by chance, you end up with a newer firmware, you can void your warranty, and use the great PCUAEE by Spannernick, which will allow you to run "multiple" firmwares, and easily swap between old/new firmware, and run RetroAami. There are no current plans to update RetroAami to work with newer firmware/s, as it currently stands! So, keep that in mind, before updating your firmware. Newer is not always better!

That being said, once you are up and running, make sure to select the appropriate mode for your TV! Then, grab the Release from the bottom of this page, or from Google Drive! Format your flash drive to Fat32, and install the injector to said drive. Then, copy some games into the _DUMMY folder. Once you load up, you should be able to select RetroAami from Main Menu, then choose whichever RetroArch you want to run. Then, Load Content and/or Load Core, to get going! BIOS are needed for some Cores. If you have any personal difficulty getting anything up and running, you are welcome to join us on Discord, for more direct assistance!

For more Extensive Notes, you can click the latest Release for MD/S-NES Minis, which will mostly be applicable to THIS Release, as well as future ones:) You may need a snack and a drink, as it will take a little while to read the wall of text on the other end! Enjoy this Release, for now!!! And, thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to join us on Discord, as well as check out my YouTube Channel, which demonstrates a lot of the stuff in THIS Release, too:)
