Short Summary

Stargaze is a Cosmos app chain designed to empower creators, traders, and developers. It enforces royalties onchain for both creators and developers, and offers real yield to stakers. Stargaze offers a suite of apps that compose well with each other, from NFT minting and trading, to more advanced NFT-Fi apps. Launched over two years ago, Stargaze has become the canonical NFT platform in Cosmos.

Why should Wormhole add this chain?

Stargaze is often the gateway to Cosmos. Many users from Ethereum and Solana come to Stargaze after discovering Bad Kids, the flagship Cosmos NFT collection. Users arriving from Solana currently have to follow a cumbersome process for onboarding. They have to go to multiple websites such as Portal Bridge and Osmosis. There’s been numerous reports on social media that onboarding to Stargaze from Solana is too difficult.

If Wormhole adds Stargaze, then the Stargaze website and other clients can offer a faster onboarding path for Solana users. Stargaze can have a liquidity pool for SOL in its upcoming Astrovault DEX, and enable quick swaps between SOL and STARS. STARS now has a market cap of over $70M.

Stargaze is connected to the following bridges: Axelar, Gravity Bridge, and IBC.

The main dapps are Launchpad, Marketplace, Names, Live Auctions, and Infinity Swap. The chain has about 4800 daily active users.

Stargaze Launchpad could also offer NFT minting in assets bridged over from Wormhole.

Technical requirements for running a node

None - [chain] will emit messages to Gateway via IBC. Guardians should not have to run anything additional (except for guardians who may run IBC relayers).

IBC Relaying Strategy

We have and agreement with Forble, a Wormhole Guardian and Stargaze validator, to be the first relayer.
Cosmos Spaces has offered to run a relayer as well.

Additionally, we are speaking with Chorus One, another Wormhole Guardian and Stargaze validator about relaying.
