Winecheck

Michael Müller edited this page Jul 12, 2015 · 1 revision

Winecheck is a diagnostic utility which tests your Wine installation for typical problems. The program was initially written for Pipelight, but it is now also available as standalone executable. The application checks if various Wine functions work properly and will inform you about the consequences if a test fails. Some of the test failues are caused by configuration issues which can be fixed by following the displayed instructions. Using the utility together with wine --check-libs should catch most of the configuration issues.

Prebuilt binaries of the utility are available at http://repos.fds-team.de/winecheck/. Just run the program in Wine like any other program. Although it does not make much sense, you can also run the program on Windows Vista or higher (needs administrator rights to pass all tests, will be fixed in later versions).
