How to disable autocomplete?

Is there a way to disable autocomplete in the interactive query mode? For some reason with Ubuntu Linux 20.04.4 LTS for WSL, autocomplete is very aggressive. The windows doesn't pop-up below the current line/prompt, and otherwise does strange things to the focus. It's basically intolerable. Now, it doesn't do this in my Mac terminal, but I need to use my work PC for my work-account-related stuff.

Thanks for your question.

At present, no there is no way to do this. However I have raised a couple of issues, one to add a mechanism to disable autocomplete, and one to look into the focus/rendering issues you are seeing. We will try to get these into a release in the near future.

A workaround for now would be connect to the Steampipe service using another SQL client - PGCLI works well.

Seconding, WSL for Windows 10 experience is not amazing, autocomplete blocks the view of what I'm typing, and actually starts blowing out my historical view.

Love the tool though, has been a huge timesaver!

As of v0.17.0 you can disable autocomplete in the Steampipe REPL.

In the interactive console:

.autocomplete off

Or in the configuration file options:

options "terminal" {
  autocomplete = false
}
