Background

With blog posts, we always seek to drive engagement and showcase excellence.

The goal is to write a blog that is extremely specific to a problem that people are searching for in that technology.

After you have a topic, write a specific post that fully satisfies the need of the searcher. This isn’t a high-level explanation or awareness or persuasive blog. This is a nuts-and-bolts, solve an issue, type of blog.

Acceptance

  • Create the idea for the blog post you want to create
  • Get your idea approved by your pod leader
  • Write a blog post that accomplishes the above
  • Have your pod technically review your post for accuracy
  • Send your blog to pod lead for review
  • Submit to the This Dot blog Contentful for posting
  • Write an accompanying Tweet to promote your blog to be submitted to the marketing team

Timebox: 8 hours

Notes

  • Historically, some of our highest performing blogs have been ones that are very specific to a problem people are Googling about.
  • If you don’t know what people would be looking for in a particular technology, consider browsing their community forums, Discord, or even Twitter to find out what is going on.
  • A good example of this type of post would be "How to implement component tests that utilize Vuex/Pinia". A bad example would be "How to write component tests in Vue".
