Externding Snipe to handle Any/Any connections

We are using SnipeIt to document our IT infrastructure in more than one way.

One of the things we are doing with SnipeIT right now is that we CHECKOUT Assets to other Assets to group them logically (ISO27001 related thing)
Especially in the case of Physical servers (a cluster) which host virtual machines for documentation purpose we want to be able to link the virtual maschine to all the physical hardware which forms the cluster.

What i really would love to see is something like:
Asset A -> isconnected to -> something B
where
isconnected can have different types of connection and can for every type be extended by additional informations.

Could this be valid to more users and thus be somewhere on the roadmap beyond V6?
