Privacy Policy

To allow IIT to integrate and manage your contribution to software stack “Robotology”, IIT is collecting personal data from your GitHub account (name and e-mail address). Pursuant to article 13 of the EU Regulation no. 2016/679 (“GDPR”), we inform you that your personal data will be processed for the purpose of (i) allowing you to contribute to one or more “Robotology” software listed in the appendix A of the Contributor License Agreement (the “Work”); (ii) retain your contribution in order to make the author identifiable according to the requirements of the applicable copyright law. The legal basis for the processing of the personal data is Article 6 (1) f of the GDPR ("processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller"). The processing of personal data will be carried out by electronic means observing the rules on the protection of personal data. Personal data will be erased once they are no longer necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected and processed. Please note that since the Work you contribute to is public, the personal information provided in connection with that contribution will be embedded and publicly displayed with your contribution. In any case this information may be retained for the maximum extent allowed by the copyright law, according with the purposes of the Work. The Data Controller of the data you will provide is Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (“IIT”), based in Genoa, Via Morego no. 30 (phone: 39 010 28961). The Data Protection Officer can be contacted at the following email address: dpo[at]iit.it. You may exercise the rights provided for by articles 15 et seq. of the GDPR. In particular, you have the right to access your personal data and to obtain their updating and adjustment. Furthermore, whether you think that the processing violate the rules on the protection of personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In consideration of your participation in any Work, you understand that retaining your name and email address, as described above, does not require your consent and that the right of erasure, as spelled out in the GDPR Article 17 (1) b does not apply. It is specified that for processing of the above data there is not any type of automated decision-making process, pursuant to article 22 of the GDPR.
