Describe the issue

a week ago I face the issue the consequences of which forced me to rebuild the HDD for my PS. I downloaded the latest "pre-release" version of OPL and updated the BOOT.elf on mc0 which has OpenTuna installation. Before this moment everything was working fine, sometimes I was updating OPL to latest beta though just for testing purposes and again everything was okay.
After the first power on PS has started as usual but like in 10 seconds OPL has stopped and PS showed me "Sony Entertainment System" boot screen. Since that moment every time OPL was booting with error:

401: HardDisk drive not found

My first thought was it's just the HDD error, however PSF Batch Manager and HDD explorer were working fine no errors, read/write operations were successful.
When I tried to refresh the game list it actually showed me the list but no artworks and my configuration was not catching up.
Then I found on the Internet someone mentioned HDD fuses, I've done checking but this wasn't a problem either.

Long story short, when I switched back to stable 1.10 version of OPL it started to work fine. I suspect the API version switching is to blame or some related change that has happened in a couple of latest pre-release builds.

The problem also appeared to me when I was booting to the latest uLaunchELF, which I guess has similar changes as latest OPL.

This report also may save a few hours/days to someone, bad luck to me I haven't find any related info for this error.

@AKuHAK I think this error has already been solved in this beta 2177, because it works normally for me now.

Hi @Kunihiko1897! I've just updated the OPL on my HDD. I confirm the issue is gone now.
Thank you 👍
