First of all, my extreme gratitude for providing an easy means of accessing the splash art skins, without going through unnecessary time-consuming downloads. I love studying splash art to improve my painting skills, so your website is such a god-send gift!!
As an artist, I'm interested in knowing who painted the splash art for the champion skins. It's really helpful for researching the artists and maybe even learning their art style.
For example,
Winterblessed Diana, Star Guardian Akali, K'Sante, and Sentinel Irelia were done by Riot senior artist Bo Chen.
Solar Eclipse Leona, Blood Moon Evelynn, Star Guardian Xayah & Rakan, and Yone were done by Esben Lash Rasmussen
Likewise, a lot of talented artists or art studios have worked on splash art and therefore deserve some mention.
However, I can only find that out after researching the League of Legends Wiki page.
Describe the solution you'd like
My suggestion is:
To add the name of the artist or the art studio that was commissioned to paint the splash art, preferably under the description of the skins.
There are chances that the same artist could have worked on multiple pieces, therefore I suggest some filter categories could be given to filter out paintings based on the artist.
Sometimes, the artists may not be named, and that is fine. I just find that the Skin explorer is really helpful in categorizing the skins based on multiple criteria, which is really helpful for me and aspiring artists to study splash arts.
Describe alternatives you've considered
So far, this is a new idea, so I haven't considered any alternatives to naming the artist for their respective splash art paintings.

Also, it would be really helpful, if the Zoom option had more magnification and user control to pan around the zoomed artwork.
The centered zoom option seemed almost right, but I could only study the face.

Hey, thank you for your suggestion! I'm not presently aware of any automated way to get this information, so to my knowledge, the only way this would work would be to maintain a manually-entered dataset for each of the ~1700 skins. I've considered having some crowd-sourced manual info in the past, so it's not completely out of the picture, but I'll have to think about it.
Regarding the zoom stuff being wacky, I agree. I intend to set up a better image viewer in the near future.
