Cosmic-applets version:

Specific applet that this is regarding (if applicable): Input Sources

Issue/Bug description:

As the input sources doesn't display, I can't easily change between keyboard layouts.

I have been suggested that this issue would be related to lilyinstarlight/nixos-cosmic#74 (comment) as the xkb-data in the applet has still not been updated to a working version (

cosmic-applets/cosmic-applet-input-sources/Cargo.toml

xkb-data = "0.1.0"
)

I'll let you know if updating to xkb-data = "0.1.0" to "0.2.1" will solve my issue.

Did this work? xkb_config is recreated on boot for me even when I wipe out my user and the cosmic-greeter user configs.

It's puzzling that COSMIC Settings works yet the applet and Greeter does not. 🤔 I'm a little stumped.

EDIT:

I checked your link, and it seems like COSMIC Settings is using an updated version of xkb-data whereas both the input applet and greeter are using a newer version. Bumping may fix the issue.

fix(inputs): Use env vars and extra layouts

The inputs applet uses an outdated `xkb-data` which causes some configs
to fail which in turn leads to an empty list.

Okay, that seems to fix it so I opened two PRs. Thanks for all of the help!! I basically did nothing. 😂 😂
