I was running Chainfire's SuperSU
Did a full uninstall from within the app
Booted to recovery
Flashed http://superuser.phh.me/superuser.zip
Rebooted normally
Installed https://f-droid.org/repo/me.phh.superuser_1033.apk
Every time I boot, message shows "The install binary is out of date"
All apps have superuser access without prompting
What am I doing wrong?
Running Android 7.1.1

I am also having this issue doing the exact same procedure. I am on Slim-7.1.2. I also tried a different approach.
Installed http://superuser.phh.me/superuser.zip
Rebooted
Uninstalled 1.0.3.0
Installed https://f-droid.org/repo/me.phh.superuser_1033.apk
Rebooted into recovery
Installed /cache/superuser.zip

So I installed https://f-droid.org/app/com.abcdjdj.rootverifier

It is still showing SuperSu 2.8.2 as installed. I tried to use the setting to switch to another superuser apk. but even after uninstalling supersu pro and free the same behavior is occurring.
