I am new to KiCad and working on a circuit with the SSD1306 OLED display. Downloaded the .lib file from here and tried to install it using the steps in the readme file. I am using Kicad 7.0.
After downloading the .lib file I went to Preferences/Manage Symbol Libraries and clicked on the "Add existing Library to table" icon. I navigated to where I put the downloaded library file and it seemed to add the library to the table with the correct Nickname and Library path, but the Library Format was "Legacy" unlike the others in the table that are "Kicad". And there was no Description.
When I clicked on the "OK" button to close the Symbol Libraries dialog I got an error complaining that the library was not a valid library. See attached error dialog.
I was able to use the Add Symbol icon in the schematic capture and see the new symbol, but as I expected clicking on it didn't really do anything.
Not sure how to move forward from here.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
