PPTX converted in Marp (CLI / VS Code) has consisted by "pre-rendered slide images".
This output is sufficient to play your slide / add annotations on a familiar tool, but not suitable to handle text content / re-edit the content.
Why
Marp team's requirement to the converted output is almost 100% reproducibility to the slide design, and pre-rendered image is nearly perfect in regards to this point. On the other hand, we think it's too difficult to make an editable PPTX output with keeping the most part of complex HTML/CSS based layout.
At least I have not ever seen a clear solution in FLOSS, and I expect it may become a big project more than Marp if launched an open-sourced solution.
Solution: PDF to PPTX
If you don't care about slightly less design reproducibility of the slide, the current best solution to get editable PPTX is using an another converter from PDF to PPTX.
Previously we had to use Adobe Acrobat by buying Adobe CC, or use (not great) third-party online converter. But now Adobe makes Acrobat Web, lets to convert PDF to well reproducible PPTX for free!
Try to convert the PDF exported by Marp, from https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/pdf-to-ppt.html.
