Discussions are for asking questions, presenting new ideas, and making plans.
Discussions and questions previously lived in Issue. This was not a good place for asking questions or lengthy discussions. The new place for discussions is the Discussions section. Using Discussions should help keep issues to the point, free from tangents, and actionable by their assignee.
Issues vs Discussions
Discussions:
Issues:
issue -> branch -> pull request -> merge
workflowFeature Requests
A feature request that isn't yet particularly concrete, or that is otherwise not ready for implementation should be entered as an "idea" in the discussions.
Needs Community Input Label
The issue label "needs community input" has been removed, and most of the issues that had that label have been moved to discussions.
Migration of Diffuse/Amorphous/Meandering/Perennial Issues
There are many open issues that probably belong in discussions, if you see one, move with it the "Convert to Discussion" link in the right hand side of the Issue's tool bar.
