Hi,

I can not find anything about BBMD in the Wiki, but I do find that the current version of BACnet4j should support it >3.2. Is it enough to set the broadcastIP on Scan to the foreign IP, and then it will use BBMD? I do not have any devices to test this, but I can imagine this must be a relevant question to more people..

/Ben

Hi Ben,

I don't have devices to test BBMD, too. And I do not know what is necessary to support BBMD (i.e. which settings have to be made at BACnet4j).

Sorry

After reading this article on BACnet/IP:

BACnet/IP (Annex J) Explained

I feel VERY enlightened about the difference between BACnet and BACnet/IP (Annex J) and how broadcasting/multicasting is working, and when its NOT working. This also explains (as stated in the wiki for the driver) why scanning for BACnet devices using "who-is" is unpredictable, since broadcasts are not routed. You could go ahead and close this case.
