Cost: Free
Registration Page: https://linuxfoundation.regfox.com/open-visualization-collaborator-summit-2024
Agenda: To be determined (TBD)

Schedule

This event provides a great opportunity for collaboration. Participants can use the time to discuss important project topics, pair program, resolve bugs, build consensus, or tinker on new ideas. It's also a great time to collaborate with peers from other projects and learn more about their work and how the OpenJS Foundation can support these efforts.

Full Agenda TBD

Registration

This is an open event, but is geared towards contributors of the deck.gl framework and other frameworks in the vis.gl and kepler.gl OpenJS projects.

Registration is required for attendance at the Summit. To attend the in-person Summit in London, please register here:

https://linuxfoundation.regfox.com/open-visualization-collaborator-summit-2024

Attending in person

  1. The Microsoft London office is located near the Eastbourne Terrace exit of the Paddington Station (Google Map), entrance is along Kingdom Street (Street view of entrace).
  2. We will need to provide Microsoft with the names and email addresses of attendees prior to the event to issue building access codes. You will receive a welcome email with the office address and a barcode for accessing the speed gates on the ground floor.
  3. While wearing masks is not mandatory, attendees are welcome to wear them if they choose.
  4. As the summit takes place in an office building, attendees should remain within the designated summit area. If you need to leave this area, please seek assistance from a Microsoft employee or security personnel on site.
  5. The summit starts at 9:00 with a breakfast, sessions start at 9:30 and ends at 15:00 each day. After the summit we should leave the building by 16:00.

The register now in website here:
https://www.openvisualization.org/#summits
Is linking to this issue, but I couldn't find the registration option in the thread above.
As far as I know, the registration can be done through here:
https://linuxfoundation.regfox.com/open-visualization-collaborator-summit-2024
It might be better to mention it in this issue or better yet link the register now button in the above website to the registration form.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out.

Hello! I built NEW HEAT with DeckGL and figured i'd plug it in here for some feedback on how I could promote it or use it to make this Open Vis summit a little more exciting!

I am no longer working on it regularly, but plan to come back to it when I have some more data to add, or some new features when I have more time.

Would love to hear some thoughts!

If anyone sees this above project, finds this interesting, and wants to try to make some money with it, I want to submit it to the Google Photorealistic 3D Maps Challenge after a couple visualization improvements. I dont have as much time as I would like to work on it, but I definitely see the story and the existing work to serve a as very sellable foundation for the objectives of the hackathon. If you want to help me work on it, we can split the prize money.
