I'm wondering if SS3 have examples of size- structured models like those reviewed by Punt et al. (2013). Is it possible to condition SS3 to model dynamics based on length rather than age? I am working with fisheries that hard to age and this issue was a point raised in a peer review.
Thank you in advance.

The dynamics of recruitment growth and mortality are all age based. The
age specific rates of fishing mortality can be linked to length specific
selectivity. If growth platoons are invoked, then each platoon can have
different age specific F due to interaction of length selectivity with
their different size at age.

So, it is vital for my question to consider how fishing mortality does not vary with age, but with length and platoons. This will allow to adjust the length selectivity. Now, how to define the number of platoons is what I must configure.
