Joe Lanman wrote some great instructions for this https://joelanman.com/posts/govuk-prototype-kit-github-codespaces/ I still don't entirely understand it but is something that could be nice to translate to NHS.UK world at some point

I'm currently writing that up @vickytnz - Thanks for the share. For mine I will be opening a PR in the near future for feedback

@paulmsmith amazing - this will be great! 🙌 I'll assign this task to you - no hurry though! 😄

With context for Frankie's comment - there are gitpod instructions somewhere on confluence, which will be good to compare and even consider using, since Gitpod is already in use.

GitPod documentation: https://nhsd-confluence.digital.nhs.uk/display/NHSUK1/Gitpod+-+How+to

I've not tried it, but might be interesting to compare and contrast with GitHub Codespaces (which I've also not tried)?

From prototype team catchup @paulmsmith is working on not just codespaces documentation but also an optional configuration file for the kit. Worth giving @anandamaryon1 and the team more details about the limits for free usage of codespaces.
