While testing after install, I the only items presented on the screen was a header bar with "MODE" on the Left and "LCARS" on the right along with an empty footer bar.

I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.

My first step to troubleshooting was to ensure that all of the dependencies were installed:

libpango1.0-0 is already at the latest version 1.50.6+ds-2ubuntu1
libpangoxft-1.0-0 is already at the latest version 1.50.6+ds-2ubuntu1
libx11-6 is already at the latest version 2:1.7.5-1ubuntu0.3
libxml2 is already at the latest version 2.9.13+dfsg-1ubuntu0.4
libxpm4 is already at the latest version 1:3.5.12-1ubuntu0.22.04.2
libxrandr2 is already at the latest version 2:1.5.2-1build1
python3 is already at the latest version 3.10.6-1~22.04
python3-gi is already at the latest version 3.42.1-0ubuntu1

I also reread through the installation and manual instructions several time thinking I might have missed something. If I have, I can't find it and now I need help.
Here is the lcarswm.log from today's attempt:

Please let me know what other information I can provide so we can get this resolved. Thank you in advance for your help.

Update: I decided to try to compile from source and found that there were several dependencies that I missed. I will finish here as closely as possible and will come back with an update.

Update: I was able to install all of the required dependencies now and I double-checked them just to be sure. The I went through and looked at the install files of all of the software and uncommented the cp directions because they were throwing errors regarding "no file or directory". Then I ran all of the install.sh files again. Only the lcarswm install.sh gave me a message I have not corrected yet; if even I should. It says:
12 actionable tasks: 3 executed, 9 up-to-date
I do not know what this means so I have no way of correcting it or even if I should.
At this point, any advice would be helpful.
Thank you again in advance.
PS: Sorry, I forgot to attach the log files for debugging.

Thank you for the bug report. This is one that is a bit puzzling to me so far. I'm on it though.

As for the message. 12 actionable tasks: 3 executed, 9 up-to-date is the output from running the tests.

I am having the same issue, on endeavouros when installed from AUR. Appears that it doesn't recognize newer versions of python when trying to compile from source, so I'll just ignore that for now as at least with the AUR it installs and logs in.

I assume it's a dependancy or display? issue. I've checked everything I can think of. Even installed octopi to search keywords. Checked my logs. Since it technically appears to be working, no errors show up that I've found. a few entries saying things started.
anyway, so close. it's gotta be simple. This guy had the issue, but he doesn't show or say how he fixed it.(or if he did, he mumbled it and I didn't understand)
