Continues giving Error: Unable to load NGT. Please install NGT and python binding first. after multiple installs

I continue getting this error:
Error: Unable to load NGT. Please install NGT and python binding first.
After I have installed NGT multiple times again...
Not sure what the problem is, all help is much appreciated.

I am having the same issue. I use Python 3.9 and the ngt package (brew install ngt) and ngt Python binding (pip install ngt) are installed.

I am not sure what is ngtpy that we are trying to import in the code, it seems to be just ngt now

I was able to fix this issue by installing imgdupes with python 3.8.

For me, I was only able to fix by installing python 3.7

that seems like quite a rollback in 2023 with python 3.12 being a stable version ...
