This is potentially a quite large and separate issue from the rest of the library. It seems like most of the code can be potentially ported over, but particularly functions for displaying the figure will need to be reworked. I've found this example using D3 with pyscript. It don't fully understand how they have imported D3 into the python environment, but it's pretty nifty. I'm going to use this issue to document as I work through different aspects of this problem.
