My senior year software project - designed to offer local art resources to Austin artists in one location. Includes map services to locate local resources, helpful articles of different categories, ability for a user to create articles to share, and view and sort articles.
The Austin community is full of creatives and artists, with a huge variety of resources available. However, these resources are scattered throughout the city and throughout the internet with no centralized way to gain knowledge of what’s available. The web application CreateATX aims to change this problem. This web application is aimed at hobbyist artists in the Austin community, with a focus on combining art theory and techniques with local resources, such as art galleries, art classes, and art supplies. Through an interactive map, users can access the information to discover these resources in their local area. Users will also be able to view articles about art mediums, art styles, and art techniques, to get inspiration for their next project or find instructions for techniques they haven’t tried before. They are also able to create their own articles, to share with other community members their specialized artistic knowledge and experience. To build further inspiration, CreateATX users can access a color palette generator. Through CreateATX, the widespread Austin art community is centralized to one web resource for all Austin creatives to explore and enjoy.
