Move Repo to CDK Labs at AWS For Usage of AWS Account to Run E2E Tests?

Hello cdk-nextjs Community,

I want to ensure the long-term success of this construct and therefore improve it's stability and ease to maintain the construct. To do this, I think we need an AWS account to run e2e tests for the various example apps. Ideally, each PR could spin up several new Nextjs sites and e2e tests could run to verify functionality. However, we need an AWS account and someone to pay for the AWS account.

I work for AWS Professional Services and I have access to AWS accounts which we can use for this purpose but we'd need to move this repo under an AWS sponsored Git Hub organization (like CDK Labs at AWS).

What do you think about moving this repository to CDK Labs at AWS?

I've already spoken with @revmischa (Jet Bridge sponsor of this project) who is ok with doing this, but I wanted to get the community's opinion.

Sounds good to me but some questions for potential issues:

1. Would AWS be okay with this since this would be a competitor to Amplify. Would they sabotage? Has there been any precedence of such?
2. The stack for the tests should fall under the always free tier (need to put TTL on the bucket to clean up old/outdated build files) so perhaps to avoid sleeping in bed w/ AWS, we could crowd fund the account

1. Yes, they're ok with it. No, they won't sabotage the project. It's a win-win for AWS. AWS is all about giving customers choice. If we have 34 (17 + 17) ways to run containers, I think 2 ways to run a Next.js site will be ok :)
2. You're right. I did not consider the free tier when talking with Mischa about this. Beyond the dollar cost, there will be a time cost put on Mischa to help me and other maintainers of the project administer the AWS account to setup/fix/update tests. It is my understanding that Mischa doesn't use this construct anymore and now uses NextjsSite from SST. If I were Mischa I wouldn't want to be "stuck" helping maintain a construct I don't use. @revmischa, please let me know your opinion. Happy to proceed either way.

In 2 above, I assumed Jet Bridge (Mischa) would be the crowd funded account, but if there is any other organization that would like to provide an AWS account, please let us know!

I'm cool with setting up and maintaining and AWS account for it and paying the extremely nominal cost. I also don't mind moving it to awslabs/awscdk. Whatever is best for everyone.
