Given a new comment is created and I am either part of the discussion or the author of the build order, then I will receive an email notification that a new comment has been added.

No, there are no notifications on new comments and no time to implement that in the short term. Next Feature will be support for the new civs.

Which link is dead?
Are you referring to Email verification?

I just double checked the email validation links.
You were right - for some reason it leads to a 404. I de-activated the default 404-route for now.
Email validation should work again. (You might have to clean the browser cache, though)
