Placeholder issue for collection of requests for advanced mapping that will likely get split out as we resolve the direction we want to go in.

  • Add legend and date/time for layer
  • Add layer picker to toggle layers
  • Add timeline capacity for forecasts with multiple images
  • Update Nexrad data layer from govt. shutdown
  • Add additional layers from NECOFS and BIO for wave, wind, etc.

Our current source of RADAR data is from the NOAA nowCoast MapServer, which was last updated 2/12, so we might need to see what is up with them, or find another source.

NCEI's MapServer appears to be down right now, but here are their layers:
