If someone has a MK3.5(S) and is whiling to help the project we would be interested to test the BearExxa V2 with Prusa firmware.
If you don't want to change your MK3.5(S) extruder and X axis you may still help us.
If you have a MK4(S) you may still be able to help us. For example by testing Revo Micro heatsink and fan or the experimental menu options.
Points to test:
🟢 Can modify the e-step value (see note 1)
🟢 Can save the e-step with a gcode command or LCD menu (see note 1)
🟠 Can calibrate the thermal model for the hotend (see note 2)
🟠 Can disable fan hotend speed regulation (alt fan feature on MK3S) (see note 3)
🟢 Can set extruder motor direction (see note 1)
🟢 Can set the Z length (see note 1)
Other?
Legend:
✅ : Tested and working fine
🟢 : It's possible but untested physically
🟠 : May be possible
❓ : Unknown
❌ : Not possible
Note 1: Looks like point 1,2,5 and 6 can be set in an experimental menu
Note 2: The E3D Revo Six is supported since firmware 6.0.0 which maybe a good news for point 3. However, we don't know if it is going to work for our Revo Micro and the stronger heatsink cooling.
Note 3: Alternatively we could potentially use the GPIO Module to control the hotend fan. We may not even have to disable the fan check in the experimental menu.
Thank you in advance ❤️
