Paused m4a episodes don't continue to play #18

When trying to play paused m4a podcasts via cover action or with the "Play" item in pulley menu, they don't continue to play as long as one doesn't skip forwards or backwards using the navigation wheel. This only happens with m4a files, not with opus or mp3s.
Example: Not Safe For Work m4a
I also have the codec pack from OpenRepos installed but haven't tried yet whether this issue is caused by that

Yeah, this might be a bug in gst-av or something down in the middleware. Keeping this open for now, I think I've seen similar issues with seeking/playing of other podcasts before.

As the play counter does not continue to count in this case, would it be an option to watchdog the play counter and seek -1 or -10 seconds (same as pressing the 10 seconds back button) if it does not start playing?

If you want to submit a patch to do this we can try :)

I'm guessing the issue still exists since you replied here...
