@dorkster@Danimal696 Adding this issue / feature request here to better organize for thoughts / feedback. This could add lots of depth to Flare / game developers; as in no ~10,000 item upgrade combos behind the scenes. Yet again this is an issue of depth verses complexity / feature creep verses regular patch releases. ~'This feature would be cool' but at what cost?

Here is a link / quote / reference to some extras details and points and inspiration / references from other RPGs about how retroactive item augmentations can add depth and added quality of game player experience. Also including some points of interest from my own experiences. As in to add relevance to early content / lower levels, fight power creep and give a fun excuse to go back to lower level areas. Also how in retroactive item augmentations can add to the overall 'item hunt' with effectively having 'items on top of items'.
Adding socket, gem, jewel, enchantment (etc.) item system to Flare to be able to retroactively add (or even remove) item properties / attributes from pre-generated items (e.g. permanent item 'buffs' / augmentations).
