In order to increase the page load speed & lighthouse score we need to convert all images to WebP format so that they can load faster. Please ask for help and guidance if needed via comments.

For conversion of Images to WebP format, you can download the tool for your relevant platform:

WebP is not compatible with all browsers.
https://caniuse.com/#feat=webp

But there is a trick to use HTML5 figure element with both source sets.

I would like to work on this issue. What should I do?

@mfaheemakhtar There must be a shim or polyfill to add support for older browsers. Did you search that? Also I can only assign one Issue to new contributors. Either you can do this one or the one I previously assigned to you.

I am in the process of collecting data for that issue, So I guess you can continue with this one. I will assign that later to someone else?

I like the idea but I'll prefer to stick with the "links" issue. :)
