Version with bug

9.0.10 SR1

Is this a regression from previous behavior?

Yes, this used to work in .NET MAUI

Last version that worked well

8.0.3 GA

Affected platforms

Windows

Affected platform versions

windows 11 24H2 (build 26100.2454)

Did you find any workaround?

I used to create a net8 app and manually update it to net 9. Between the latest windows update and maui controls updates, the work-around stopped working.

This is sadly by design by Visual Studio.
This is not a maui bug nor a Visual Studio bug.

Wow, thanks, incredible though that developers can't have the option!

I know.
But if the Visual Studio Developer Community post suggestion gets enough upvotes they might bring it back.
I would also love to just being able to deploy it straight to my machine with .NET 9.

I don't think it will happen even with enough upvotes. I think they're trying to stop future issues like we just had. Why else would that feature be removed?
