Allow the user to specify the type of note, and edit the list of note types.

You could provide a prepopulated set of types to start, especially for lexemes:

anthropology
discourse
encyclopedic
general
grammar
historical
morphology
phonetics
phonology
pragmatics
semantics
sociology
syntax
