I have set the users group to read only

We were getting a ton of spam on the users group on Google Groups. So I’ve set the group to not allow new posts.

In order for the Google group to be useful, anyone needs to be able to sign up. Or someone needs to take ownership and moderate new users. I’m no longer active with the project and can’t do this myself.

I think Google did a better job in the past of keeping out bad actors, or maybe the baddies just figured out how to misuse Google Groups.

I recommend removing that support option from the documentation & website, unless someone affiliated with the project wants to take ownership of the users group.
