The road to 3.9

After a couple patch releases to the 3.8 series, I think it's time for a 3.9 minor release soon. There's some interesting stuff to do, and I'll have decent free time in the next month or two to put it together.

Milestone: 3.9.0 milestone

As of 2024-08, I'm doing initial work on the dev/free-mime branch, to allow rebasing and squashing before merging to main. Until that's merged to main and deleted, please target PRs for 3.9.0 the the dev/free-mime branch.
