Similar to ShokoWeb UI Feature. Something simillar is already present with random cover on collections.

Yes, i think that should be a problem.
If they are served via API then it shouldn't be issue.
Just so you know, I doubt that this function will change images each time you enter/renter series folder.

As Kodi loves and should cache data for better performance.
