Hello,

I'm looking for a feature comparison between boombeastic https://github.com/balenalabs/boombeastic
and balena-sound https://github.com/balenalabs/balena-sound

Could you give a brief description of use cases and difference between both?

I'm looking for a way to cast webradios from RadioDroid ie webradio listed on https://www.radio-browser.info/

RadioDroid can use MPD (Music Player Daemon) but maybe some other solutions are possible.

Related segler-alex/RadioDroid#936

Kind regards

Hi @scls19fr - balena-sound is definetely better-maintained and stable, and the plan for boombeastic is to eventually become the hardware part only that runs balena-sound. Feature parity is not achieved there yet (afaik no MPD support yet) but we'll get there. While boombeastic is a project I've been struggling to maintain and keep up-to-date as a single individual, balena-sound has a team behind with a great maintainer that is very responsive to the community
