Odd SSH login issues

After running the playbook, using a spel-ami on aws, I find that I cannot login to ssh using the standard ssh client with a pem key but ansible itself can connect and run the playbook over ssh.

Has anyone run into this issue?

I am trying a test with the 'standard' RHEL9 AMI vs the SPEL (https://github.com/plus3it/spel) ami to see if perhaps the playbook affects them differntly.

Thank you for the question, im afraid we don't see anything along those lines. The pipeline also carries out a reboot as part of the test and this doesn't show this issue.
Interested to see if there is a ssh config error during the play or without a reboot whats different between the two?
